While Super Bowl ads are starting to pile in, getting many excited for the big game, there’s another big event on the horizon that gets people equally excited: Puppy Bowl XII. The Barkleys, America’s favorite canine family, return to star in Subaru’s latest TV ad campaign that will air in the coming weeks, leading up to the Puppy Bowl and Super Bowl on February 7.
Subaru’s “Dog Tested. Dog Approved.” ad campaign will feature five new commercials, where the Barkleys take on everything from dealing with other canine drivers, getting their pups to sleep, and just driving around town in their Subaru. During the actual Puppy Bowl, fans will be encouraged to share pictures of their own pets using #PuppyBowlSubaru.
“Subaru and its customers have a deep connection to pets. Eight out of 10 Subaru owners are pet owners, and our brand continues to support the causes and initiatives that our customers care about,” said Alan Bethke, vice president, marketing at Subaru of America. “The new ‘Dog Tested. Dog Approved.’ campaign puts the Barkley family in the driver’s seat to help celebrate this shared love.”
The new ad campaign builds upon the automaker’s “Subaru Loves Pets” initiative, which helps support the ASPCA with sponsoring national pet adoption programs. To support the new campaign, Subaru will also be releasing a Barkley emoji for Twitter that will auto-populate when a tweet features #DogApproved to help spread the love of pets and Subaru with friends and family.
Watch the commercials below to get your Barkley family fix before Puppy Bowl XII on February 7.
